Access to food: The challenges brought by COVID-19

Additional challenges brought by COVID-19 to some communities already living in extreme poverty have made their situations worse. Some families have been struggling to put food on the table in the UK and other parts of the world such as India, Zimbabwe and Kenya.  It has been a battle. Without the pandemic challenges some of them already did not know what their next meal was going to be. Where some had been relying on informal trading in countries such as Zimbabwe with high unemployment rates,   many have been left with no means of survival due to the COVID-19 lockdown . Leap into Hope has been assisting some of these families but  we still have a long way to go. We have heard stories of how people have been struggling as they do not have access to enough food. Unfortunately there are no social systems to support those in great need in some of these countries. Together we can make a difference. We are calling for urgent assistance to support those struggling at this time.
